Dancing With Waves III

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Out of a dream or, perhaps, one of my mother's bedtime stories, comes a beautiful white horse, running beside the seashore, with a lighthouse in the distance. Though this scene appears peaceful and serene, it was completed during a time of turmoil in my life. Painting in pastel takes me to quiet, gentle places, filled with joy and beauty. Even those paintings that are full of drama, movement and bright colors seem to help me find my center and feel the touch of God. There is something about painting living things--animals, seascapes and flowers -- that comfort and strengthen me. It is a beautiful world after all.

This large pastel painting (matted to 22 x 28) will be listed on eBay this evening or tomorrow. A horse of a different color is coming soon and a kitten will be ready by early next week.

Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving has come and gone and now the Christmas season is coming fast. I love Christmas trees and put up several every year. So far we have three little ones, a Teddy Bear Tree, an Angel tree and an Antique tree. The large tree for the living room and a smaller one for the porch are still in boxes in the basement. Every year we plan to do it all early and evey year we run short of time. It gives me such a nice warm, fuzzy feeling to have all the decorations in place.
Commissioned portraits are still keeping me busy, but I have begun a new kitty painting and a horse painting. I will try to show them here before they are listed. So many wonderful things in the world to paint, and so little time!
Hope you are having a great holiday season and finding enough time to do all you have to do.
